From the 11th to the 15th of November this year, I had the chance to participate in a week of training for new missionaries at the BCM Netherlands base, located in the small (and wonderful) town of Putten. That week was filled with amazing experiences through the training content and the welcoming environment.

The candidate orientation week is a unique opportunity to learn more about the work and history of BCM International. During these days, I met missionaries from various parts of the world, including Spain, Ukraine, the Netherlands, Ireland, Northern Ireland, and the United States. Each encounter was an opportunity for learning and sharing experiences, as well as celebrating Jesus Christ in an intercultural setting.

The location in Putten was perfect for the training. The tranquil beauty of "De Herikon" provided an ideal environment for reflection and learning. The serenity of the place was crucial for us to focus on our studies and discussions, away from the distractions of daily life. Every moment there was a chance to absorb new knowledge and strengthen our commitment to BCM's mission.

The main reason we were there was clear: to prepare us to serve more effectively in the mission field. Each training session was designed to equip us with the tools and knowledge necessary to make a difference in the various contexts where we work. Learning about the importance of cultural adaptation, effective communication, and teamwork was essential for preparing each of us for the common challenges in the mission field.

One of the greatest joys of this experience was knowing that we are part of the BCM family. BCM International plays a vital role in spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ in various communities around the world, and I can say with a heart full of joy that it is an honour to contribute to this mission. The passion and commitment of the missionaries I met were inspiring and reinforced my enthusiasm and joy, especially seeing the Ukrainian team praising and celebrating Jesus Christ amidst such a delicate situation.

The hospitality of the Dutch BCM team was exceptional. From our arrival, we were warmly welcomed and cared for. The dedication and care shown by the local team were crucial in making our stay pleasant and productive. Every detail was carefully thought out to ensure we felt at home, allowing us to focus completely on the training.

Finally, I would like to express my deep gratitude to God for this opportunity. It was a privilege to participate in something so significant, made to honour and glorify the name of Christ. Every day was a blessing and a chance to grow spiritually and as a missionary. I pray that we may continue to serve with dedication and love, spreading the message of Christ around the world.
